and the kids had a blast!!
The adults had a great time, too (maybe Michael had too good of a time! hee hee), but the kids didn’t get off the dance floor!! We got our workout hanging out with them!! And Aaron was an angel last night. He did not cry one time the entire time at the church or the reception. And he napped a couple times in all that noise! So glad he can sleep anywhere!
Emma, Katelynn & Jacob didn’t sleep, though. They danced their hineys off!!
(Why do kids jump so much when they dance?)
This little guy came up and asked Katelynn to dance – it was so cute! He even asked Steven one time for permission!! LOL He tried to ask Emma, but she got embarrassed & hid behind my leg! Think I’ll be lucky enough for that to happen when she’s 15?!?!
Emma got to dance with her daddy more than I even did!! Aaron did dance a slow dance with me & Michael once – I gotta find out when the photographers post their pics b/c they got a couple of us dancing with Aaron that I really want to see!
I think Jacob might have stolen the show, though! He was shakin’ it for all the songs – he didn’t want to get off the dance floor! One lady even came over and said how much rhythm he had! Ha ha!
Here was my beauty before jumping around all over the dance floor!!
Well, today was my first day back in the office. It was easier than I thought it would be, but by the end of the day I was nearly climbing out the window, though b/c I was so ready to get home to my babies. Work wasn’t too bad today as we just closed the quarter so it’s a slow time – which is good b/c I can review everything that has been going on since I left now.
Aaron is growing so fast – I cannot believe he is already over two months old!!! And his big sister just loves him to death! I have to keep a watchful eye b/c she wants to hug & kiss on him all the time and I’ve caught her a couple of times trying to pick him up, too!! Oops! She does love him, though and I am so happy for that!
We had a good weekend together, too – even though Emma has been sick. She has had an ear infection in both ears – I think she is just about to get well, though…I hope. We were actually supposed to go out of town, but the weather said that there were supposed to be thunderstorms in East Texas and Emma was starting to get sick at that time so we decided it would be better to stay home. We went out to dinner & out for ice cream (b/c that’s what you do when you’re sick, right)…it turned out the weather wasn’t bad as predicted but since Emma wasn’t feeling good I was glad we didn’t go around Grannie & get her sick, too. Sunday she started feeling better so we went to a church bazaar in the afternoon – it was a lot of fun and Emma had a great time!
She road a ponyShe petted the animals
She had a Hello Kitty painted on her hand
and she made two painted frisbees – one for her and one for Aaron
She had a great time, while Aaron slept the entire time! Ha ha! He tends to do that, though. I think she is on the end of this sickness now & hopefully before Thursday will be back running at full speed again – Lord help us! Even sick she keeps me running. And it won’t be long until Aaron is the same way – he is so strong already. When he is inclined you can watch him try his hardest to pull his head forward like he is trying to sit up or something! Slow down baby!!! I’m not ready for you to be running all over the place just yet!!
According to BabyCenter.Com…
How your baby’s growing:
It’s hard to say for sure how big your baby will be, but the average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long.
A small pumpkin – okay, seriously little boy, it’s time to come out & say hello to Mommy, Daddy & your big sister! I don’t want to wait till this is updated to “watermelon”!! And given the fact that he’s the size of a “small pumpkin” he can’t really move around too much so every time he decides to kick me it’s in the same exact spot so I have a permanent sore spot from getting pummeled from the inside! I am going to get to see him this morning, though – via ultrasound. I have an appointment at 11:00. I am anxious to see him one way or another!!
We did have a good weekend, though. Friday night I really did think I was going into labor, but the pains passed with out anything happening. Saturday morning my brother, nephew & parents came over. My brother, nephew & Michael installed our shiny new kitchen sink – I love it!!! It’s sad that a kitchen sink is what excites me now! LOL – it is pretty, though! I was so ready to get rid of the porcelain one. I just knew I was going to love it, but no way – stainless is the only way I’ll go from now on! After my brother & nephew left we went to eat with my parents (that’s where the picture in my previous post is from).
We rode with them and when they brought us back to the house & were getting ready to leave Emma asked to go home with them. We weren’t planning on it, but she really wanted to go and made it apparent she wasn’t going to be happy if she couldn’t go with Teta & Geddo – so we packed her clothes & got her church dress & off they went – mother sent me a picture less than 10 minutes later and she was passed out again – she didn’t wake up until the next morning!! She went back to sleep after church, too & when Michael and I got there for lunch she was still napping so I got in the bed with her and she woke up!
When we got home on Sunday Michael & I were both feeling a bit yuck – sinus congestion is kicking our butt on top of me feeling like I’m about ready to pop so we took it easy the rest of the evening to get ready for the weekly grind this AM. I was anxious to get up and get the day going actually b/c I am ready for my ultrasound this morning and to see if we’re making any progress yet! I’ll give another update after my appointment this morning!
Today is Michael’s birthday!!! We love you so much!!
Hanna, Emma & Baby Boy!!!
Well, the holidays and 2009 have come and gone & it’s time to move forward into 2010! Can you believe it??? A new decade – where were you 10 years ago? I was here in Houston, having just finished my undergrad in 1999 and was working at a Japanese Trading Company at the time. Fast Forward ten years and I’ve been married just over five years, built a house, have a three year old, am about to have our second child, finished my MBA and this fall I’ll be with my current company for ten years. Life has been good. I have to say a prayer of thanks for all the good this past decade has brought and oddly enough for the bad, b/c I believe all life’s experiences make us who we are the bad make you stronger!
We had a great Christmas & New Year’s holiday with family & friends…Emma had so much fun this year tearing through wrapping paper & playing with all her cousins! She still isn’t a fan of Santa (maybe next year Santa). We spent the Christmas holidays here in town with our families and then spent the New Year’s holiday up in the country – we had hayrides and fireworks and bonfires and all the kids had a blast! Michael went hunting with my brother and we took Emma fishing. She didn’t catch anything, but she had fun. She had fun throwing acorns in the water, too! My rubber boots were in the back of the truck & when I went to put them on that morning to go fishing the inside was a solid block of ice – so I had to spend some time with the hairdryer and hot water thawing them!! Every morning was beautiful and frosty white – my aunt said it has been like that most mornings this past month!
We also got the great news that my niece is pregnant with their third child due the end of August!! Yay! So excited for her! This will be my sister’s 6th grandchild and every one of them will have summer birthdays – I see huge cousin b’day parties in the future!! LOL!
So 2010 will bring two new babies to our family – and honestly I’m ready for the first one to get here! I still have 7 weeks to go as of today, but Emma was three weeks early so I am hoping to be completely ready within the next four weeks. We worked on his room (still no name) a lot yesterday and got a lot accomplished. We still have decorating to do in there, but it’s at least baby-ready now! It’s so funny b/c at this time when I was pregnant with Emma everything was just about done – she had more than she could possibly need and with the 2nd baby here we are less than two months away and still have tons to get for him!! I had contractions Friday & Saturday that forced me off my feet – I really think it was just b/c too much time was spent on my feet both days and I needed the rest. My feet and hands are now truly swelling. I’ve had to remove my wedding rings b/c they were getting too tight- I did replace them with a larger gold band so I wouldn’t have a bare wedding finger!! Ha Ha! I’m back in heels today for work so I’ll see how my feet hold up – I may be out buying some sort of slipper to bring to the office to wear, though. I also have to get all my paper work finished for my maternity leave and oh yeah, there is job-related work to do between now and then as it’s year end and we have to go through close! 🙂 All that has to be done in the next couple of weeks at least though, so it will be finished well before it’s time for the baby to arrive! It’s going to be a busy month!
I am so thankful for my sweet darling daughter and the healthy son I have growing inside me now. I cannot wait to meet him and see him with his big sister for the first time. Sibling relationships are so special. My siblings (there are 5 of us) are all so very, very different, but I love them all so much and am so thankful to have them in my life. Each one is special to me in a very different way! My prayer for my children today is that they have a wonderfully close and special brother/sister relationship. My mother and uncle (who passed away last year) were two of the closest siblings I know. They loved one another so much. When I found out Emma was going to have a little brother that relationship was the first that came to my mind. I am so thankful that Emma is going to have a little brother!
Moving right along & almost done with the 2nd trimester – feels like I’m already in the last trimester, though. When I was pregnant with Emma I wasn’t uncomfortable much at all until about month 8. This time around, though I definitely have felt pregnant all the way through. Morning sickness hasn’t totally gone away yet, though now I’m only experiencing it about once a week, but it was daily until well after the 4 month mark. I definitely started showing faster (which I think is common) so clothes were an issue right off the bat! And I’ve been having a LOT of back pain this time around, too. Not uncommon, just different from my first pregnancy. With Emma I really didn’t have a lot of back pain until the last couple of weeks – now I have it quite often. Standing for longs periods of time isn’t an option – really sitting for long periods of time isn’t either. I’m constantly going back and forth trying to find a position of comfort. Poor Michael – I am constantly switching positions and sides of the bed at night, too. I never had a pregnancy massage when I was pregnant with Emma – am seriously considering it this time, though – soon!!!
This little boy is very active, too!! He is moving all the time now. And Michael has been able to feel him several times – my parents both got to feel him move, too. Daddy felt him right away when he touched my tummy, but every time mother put her hand on me he got still! It was funny b/c she kept talking to him like he was doing it on purpose – he eventually moved for her, too though! LOL I’ve tried to get Emma to feel him move, but she isn’t patient (strange, huh?) and will only keep her hand resting in one spot for about 5 seconds or less – though she is constantly talking to him, hugging & kissing him, last night she even gave him a present!! And she has named him – she says he is Christopher Robin!! She only knows him from her books, though – he isn’t on the Disney shows any more – I guess Darby has replaced him. We do have one DVD of classic Pooh, but I think we’ve only watched it a couple of times – since she seems to like Christopher Robin so much I guess I should get her another one! Christmas List!!
Last night she set about rearranging the house for us – she cleaned out her entire play room!
Which was so great – she kept asking – “How you like it??” I though it looked great honestly (can’t wait for the playroom to move upstairs & out of sight) – it was WHERE she put it all that I didn’t like!
Yeah – it all got moved into the foyer & living room (there were more around the corner I didn’t get in the shot – including her entire kitchen set and Cottage)!! So we had the fun task of putting it all up again – normally she cleans up her own messes & usually does a good job, but since I saw it as an opportunity to purge as well (and she can’t be around for that) I set about doing most of it myself – with help from Michael, too. We weren’t able to cull out a lot, but every little bit helps! Right now I have a growing stock of toys that are getting ready to go to Goodwill or Salvation Army or somewhere! I know that playroom is going to be infiltrated with boy toys soon and there ain’t too much extra room in there now for the girlie stuff as it is – we have way too many toys!
